Understanding and addressing mental health problems in children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders: A Full Day Workshop

Dr. Jonathan Weiss, Chair in Autism Spectrum Disorders Treatment and Care Research, gave a full day presentation on August 21, 2013, at the Geneva Centre for Autism Summer Training Institute. The Geneva Centre for Autism Summer Training Institute is a 3 day program held annually, aimed at educators and with a classroom focus. In the presentation, Dr. Weiss summarizes up-to-date research findings on the rates, presentations, and impacts of mental health problems in children with ASD; risk factors related to mental health problems (especially bullying); and assessment and treatment of these individuals.

Dr. Weiss’ presentation consisted of 3 segments, each an hour and a half long. To view a webinar containing a video of the presentations along with the accompanying slides, click here. Thanks to the Geneva Centre for Autism for coordinating the event and for providing a link to the workshop for others to view for free!
